Connected Community.

Mission and Staff

Our Mission

To establish a community and arts center for the purpose of providing classes and programs in the arts that pertain to prominent issues today, with the added interest of making these programs accessible and affordable to families and children in the greater LeRoy area. We seek to promote a connected community by providing spaces for people to engage with one another while participating in events and classes in the arts, history, culture, and local area interests, and renting spaces for self-hosted events and classes.

Our Staff and Board

Led and operated solely by volunteers, we’re a like-minded team from the greater LeRoy area, invested in serving the community by constantly striving to push the envelope in fulfilling the mission of Dewings Center with programs and events of a high standard and caliber. We also hold dear the history of Dewings Center and are passionate about maintaining, preserving and promoting this historic building.

Our leadership is a volunteer board of elected Officers (President, Secretary and Treasurer) and Directors (general voting members). Our board members raise families, work day jobs, run family businesses and fulfill other volunteer staff roles within Dewings Center. For instance, our President also takes care of building maintenance and janitorial duties (yes, that means our President cleans toilets!).

Dewings Center is your local Rental, Event and Creative Arts and Cultural Community Center, producing and hosting community events in support of the arts and cultural and social enrichment, outreaching to the greater local area community, and offering spaces to rent for meetings, regular gatherings, weddings, teaching, reunions, homeschool/youth groups, rehearsals, performances, and more. All while having great fun, of course.

We are your neighbors, and we hope to see you at one of our community events, or have the honor of renting our spaces to you for your own event or gathering!
